Fresh Power by Jim Cymbala and Dean Merrill (Zondervan); To be released Feb. 1 2001, $18.99

Jim Cymbala has been pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle for 25 years. His congregation has grown from 20 members to more than 6,000. He lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife, Carol Cymbala, who directs the world-famous Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. He has two books riding the Top 10 and a third in the series called Fresh Power, co-written with Dean Merrill. This book is a study of what it means for individuals and for the church to be constantly filled with the Holy Spirit.

 

The God Catchers by Tommy Tenney (Thomas Nelson); To be released January 2001, $17

Tommy Tenney, author of the best-selling The God Chasers, follows up with The God Catchers: Experiencing the Manifest Presence of God, releasing mid-January. Tenney, of Pineville, La., is the youngest voice of three generations of ministry. Born in 1956, he began preaching at age 16. Tommy has spent almost 10 years pastoring and more than 17 years in mobile ministry, traveling to more than 30 nations and most states. His next project, a new book and movie project, is a dramatized re-telling of the book of Esther.

Josh Harris, author of the bestseller I Kissed Dating Goodbye, has inspired thousands of singles to re-examine their approach to casual dating.  His new book is Boy Meets Girl: Say Hello to Courtship. Five years after giving up dating, he met, courted and married his new bride, Shannon. Joshua directs New Attitude Ministries and is in pastoral training at Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
