Annual North American Bible Quizzing Tournament Quizzers Poll

Conducted by Chad L. R. Faubert
October 29, 2001

The Second Annual NABQT Quizzers poll attempts to take a peek into the minds of the quizzers on the cutting edge of Bible quizzing issues, as well as tap into the romantic pulse of an event which brings those of both genders together for nearly a week.

The data listed below is based on opinion only, and should not be taken personally.  (Unless you are my brother—come on, Russ, shore up on the charisma!)  The poll extracted the opinions of 33 quizzers (out of the approximately 180 quizzers competing in the NABQT) from a wide demographic, pouring out their hearts, and, in some cases, their humor for the glory of...actually, for no one’s glory!

(Any editorial comments are from Faubert Polling Canada LTD and probably don’t represent the views of ninetyandnine.com.)

1. Based on his overall performance at Nationals, how would you rate Quizmaster Nathan Reever in comparison to Quizmaster Marvin Walker (who retired last year)?

Hall of Fame 0
Slightly better 3
No difference 21
Slightly less 9
Walking papers 0

* Bro. Reever is in his first year as the National Quizmaster.

2. Besides Brother Reever, who is your favorite NABQT official?*

Bro. Lonnie Brown 17  (Impressive...pulling in more than 50% of the vote!)
Bro. Clay Strawn 4
Sis. Kay Lynn Strawn 4
Bro. Carl Brown 3
Bro. Tom McCarley 2
Sis. Betty Crayton 1
Bro. Roger Creel 1
Bro. Russ Faubert 1

* While there were many more NABQT officials lending a hand in Louisville, these were the only officials receiving votes.

3. What would your preference be on the amount of quizzing material?

Load on the verses 1
A few more 2
No difference 19
Cut back 11
Where’s the chopping block? 0

4. Is it important to have a date to the Quizzing Banquet? Why or why not?

Of course 11
Unsure 2
Nope 20

Of Course:

- Soothes the soul.

- Makes me more studly. (Of course, Kenny!)

- Gives you a better image.

- So you can say you had a date.

- Coach threatens for you to save money for the quizzing fund (get a $20 refund from your date – cost of the banquet ticket, if already purchased by your coach).

- So you can have someone to make fun of others with.

- Of course, I’m waiting for Chad Faubert to ask me. (needless to say, my favorite!)

Unsure:

- Never had one before.

- Not old enough. (Come on, pastor, ease up?!)

Nope:

- Certain someone not here

- Because it’s more fun

- Don’t have a date

- The ability to hop around/not tied down to one person

- Dateless is the best

- It’s a nicety

- Either way you can have fun

- Not guilty when being sociable/so I can flirt with every one else (Verrrrry niiiice!!  My second choice!)

- It’s not necessary

- It depends on the person
