A World Unknown
By Paul F. Mitchell
July 14, 2003

I choose to live for a world unknown
Though the world that I see still beckons to me
The glamour, the glitz, the style and the ritz
Appeal to something that roils in my soul
And part of me howls to grab it all now, but

I choose to live for a world unknown

A world without end, neither daylight nor dark
Where all the passports come through the heart
Crystal seas, portals of pearl, transparent gold
More riches and splendor than eyes can behold
All placed there for me before time began, if

I choose to live for a world unknown.

Lusts of the flesh that burn like a fire
Constantly smolder igniting my ire
Madison Avenue keeps fueling the flame
Everywhere that I turn it’s just more of the same
And that’s the world I live in here, but

I choose to live for a world unknown

Peace, like a river, will roll through the land
In a cool ageless garden I’ll at last hold His hand
All of my sorrows and heartaches will fade
As I’m engulfed in the arms of The Ancient of Days
This is what I most long for, why I remind myself, that

I choose to live for a world unknown

I choose to live for a world unknown

I choose to live

                        I choose

                                        I choose

                                                        I…           choose.
