His Hands
By Randy Bailey
September 1, 2003

I am amazed by the power of His hands,
And yet His touch is gentle to me,
He is able to keep me from falling,
They broke the chains of sin and set me free,
His hands have touched the multitudes,
They have opened the eyes of the blind,
His hands have fed the mouths of thousands,
They are gentle and they are kind,
His hands are full of compassion,

They desire to hold you close to his side,
He demonstrated His love to each of us,
When He was nailed to the cross and died,
His hands are still reaching out today,
He promises you to never let go,
His hands have never failed anyone,
There is one thing that He wants you to know,
Your Father has the perfect plan for your life,
Trust Him as we journey towards the promise land,
Stay in His word and walk in His light,
And always hold on to His hands.

Background: This poem was inspired as I read the gospels and pictured in my mind about how His hands were able to make a difference in the lives of people. I thought about the hands that touched and changed people’s lives, the hands that fed the hungry, healed the sick, and were full of compassion and mercy. I pictured those loving hands nailed to a cross for our salvation and how He still stretches those hands out to a lost and dying world. His Hands are still reaching out today through the body of Christ and are able to make a difference in our world today. Want to see God touch someone’s life? Make an effort to touch someone today.
