Essential Prayer Resources
By Angie Clark

In a society saturated with choices, sometimes it’s nice to receive some knowledgeable recommendations.

Since early 1996 I have been involved with the “Global Prayer Movement” in varying degrees. Initially, I received training (a few seminar breakout sessions) to teach children missions-emphasis praying…and it changed my life. From the “AD 2000 Movement” to praying through the “10x40 Window” initiatives, I’ve been hooked on this source of fresh insight for prayer and volumes of information that deepen my commitment and grow my burden for souls. Enjoy the goodies!

Pray!Magazine
This magazine was started in the spring of 1997 and has become the voice of the Prayer Movement. It contains articles written by experienced intercessors on a range of topics from praying for the nations to worship. One of our  own Apostolic leaders has had a few articles published (by request) in Pray!. Also in each edition, there is a pull-out section for kids called Pray Kids!; it is full of material, by topic, to educate, mobilize, and encourage praying kids (and their mentors). Pray!

Magazine information and subscriptions can be found at: www.praymag.org. For further details and samples of Pray Kids! go to: www.praykids.com.

Window International Network
WIN is a non-profit group that focuses all of its energies and resources on the 10x40 Window. What is the 10x40 Window? It is the most populated and least evangelized section of our world (see map). The Window starts in Korea and runs through the top of Africa—10degrees to 40 degrees north of the equator. There is a place to sign up for concise weekly email prayer points that will help you join in covering Window nations weekly with specific prayer. WIN can help you pray with “understanding.”  It’s worth checking out at www.win1040.com!

Transformations & II Videos
You’ll not find a more powerful, well-documented series on the effects of prayer anywhere! For those who need to see to believe, these are for you. In these two one-hour videos, The Sentinel Group presents a total of seven 15-20 minute documentaries on verifiable transformations that took place as a direct result of corporate prayer among Christians. Transformations I covers Colombia, Guatemala, California, and Kenya. Transformations II covers the Inuit (Canada), Scotland, and Uganda. There are two new releases coming soon. To find out more, go to www.transformations.com.

When Children Pray
In this exciting book Cheri Fuller discusses three topics: 1) What happens when kids pray, 2) Teach your children well, and 3) The power of group prayer. She also includes recommended resources for prayer mentors. In every chapter, Fuller cites numerous examples of kids and prayer, demonstrating her experience and encouraging ordinary folks like you and me to enable kids to participate in the Body through prayer. Children can pray now and this book, written primarily to parents, can help anyone interested in teaching kids to pray. I have found that it is one of the best resources, short of a live seminar, that will help to open a person’s heart and build their faith in this area.

Global Harvest Ministries
This web site, headed up by C. Peter Wagner, is chock full of cutting edge prayer tools for intercession, warfare, and education. Wagner is known as a modern day Apostle to the global church body of believers and is a theologian who studies the growth and decline of denominations, movements (like ours), and is partly responsible to what is known as the “Apostolic Renewal”* movement that has been gaining momentum in the last decade. It is Peter Wagner who identified the need for strategic, informed prayer in the 10x40 Window and it is Wagner who is leading a charge for the next frontier, the 40x70 Window (Europe). Go to www.globalharvest.org and read some of the material available regarding:

The Apostolic and Prophetic
Target 40x70 (Window)
Deliverance and Power Ministries
Intercession and Spiritual Warfare

* Did you know that people all around the world are praying for a restoration of the Apostolic and the Prophetic in the Body of Christ?

The Move of the Holy Spirit in the 10x40 Window
This book, written by long-time movers and shakers in the prayer movement (Louis Bush – AD 2000, Beverly Pegues – WIN) starts with a history of how key members in the prayer movement in the late 1980’s discovered the 10x40 Window and how they mobilized the entire globe to focus prayer energy there. After nearly a decade of prayer, this book tells how our prayers are being answered and is shares miracle on top of miracle. My children’s prayer group particularly likes the story of the Indian girl who died, met Jesus, then was raised from the dead…

World Network of Prayer (WNOP)
This United Pentecostal Church site offers a place to submit prayer requests as well as enroll to receive weekly prayer lists and a free quarterly e-zine. In addition, there are ideas for local church prayer leaders, downloadable prayer guides, and testimonies of God’s miraculous work among us. Also, a special kid’s prayer web site is growing in content each month, with a section for kids and one for grown-ups. Go to
www.wnop.org  and www.kidsprayer.com.
