Music
By Sara Darst
April 12, 2004

Music is the sweetest expression of the human experience.
It is the key that unlocks the door to our souls,
the path that finds its way to the deepest recesses of our hearts
where all our masked emotions and carefully guarded secrets lay hidden.
It is love without rejection, sorrow without reservations,
laughter without fear.

Music spans the great divide between generations, cultures,
time, languages, and social classes.

Within music is the power to change a stubborn heart,
bring comfort to the hurting, offer happiness to the sad,
give encouragement to the weary, and express the eternal love of God.

Music is the inner room where we can hide and find sweet solace.

It is more than just artistically crafted lyrics and notes on a page.
When words fail us, music fulfills our need to speak.
Young and old, poor and rich, beautiful and unsightly-
music touches us all.

Music is never ending.  In music lies the secret to our souls.
Music . . . it is the cry of the human heart.
