Reader's responses to The Big Question.
The Question:
_____________ is my
favorite coffee shop, where I always order ________________.
Answer:
“Starbucks, grande extra hot vanilla cappuccino.”
Answer:
“Timothy’s and Second Cup coffee.”
Answer:
“Starbucks inside Barnes & Noble, where I always order a half decaf/half regular
house blend, black. Never gunkup a bitter taste with sweet stuff. Order a Coke
if that’s the case. Oh, and read all the books I want absolutely free while I
sip my black coffee.”
Answer:
“Starbucks/Peppermint hot chocolate at Christmas, Soy mocha latte—no whipped
cream otherwise.”
Answer:
“Okay, well, at the risk of sounding like every other 20-something in
civilized parts of America, Starbucks is my favorite coffee shop, where I
always order a white chocolate mocha with a shot of peppermint...or a mocha
valenciano...or a caramel macchiato (sp?). In my defense, I order only tall,
non-fat, half-caf, mostly sugar free versions of these concoctions. Maybe one
of these days I’ll have the guts to go decaf as well (for the benefit of those
who think caffeine is the A/P equivalent of heroin or Jack Daniels).”
Answer:
“Coffee is only good in a pinch. Personally, I like Lipton English Blend tea
steeped overnight. I get 50 bags at the local grocery store for the same price
as you pay for a specialty coffee. Sign me refined, relaxed and not supporting
a $10 a day coffee habit! :-)”
Answer:
“Coffee Call—Beignets & Hot Chocolate! Gotta be from South Louisiana to
appreciate that one!”

because you have to have a star’s bucks to afford it much oftener than that.”

I went a little nuts and ordered the strawberry frap...mmm...Sarap! (Delicious!
in Tagalog or Filipino) :o) Their shaken passion tea is really great too if
you’re looking for something light and refreshing.”

but I always order something different. There are so many good things to try.
And free samples of chocolate covered coffee beans.”
Answer:
“Home is my favorite coffee shop, where I always order coffee made with freshly
ground beans. Just because I don’t get out much, and because I would feel guilty
using up that amount of money on buying espresso drinks every day. I get to get
espresso usually about once a week—then, in the summer I usually get a caramel
macchiatto (iced), or in the winter I get an eggnog latte, or gingerbread latte.
Sometimes I go for caramel or white chocolate though. However, on those
extremely rare occasions that I get to go out sans kids and chill out at some
nice little place by myself, I get some good sweet dessert of some kind, and a
completely dry cappuccino. (I used to be a barista, can you tell?)”
