Persistent Prayer Without Ceasing - Results At Last!

I am so excited about what God is doing in my family! After praying for 33 years for my family to come into the church, God opened the door for a miracle. As the only person serving God in my family, I prayed and explained the plan of salvation, including “You have to be baptized in Jesus’ name” whenever the opportunity presented itself. There were no results.

Then my sister called my home and asked if I knew any minister that would baptize her 16 year-old son and our mother! I told her I would get back with her.

I prayed that God would lead us to the right person, and the Lord led us to Pastor Daron Hudspeth because my family lives about 15 minutes from Abundant Life Family Center in Kirkwood, MO. Pastor Hudspeth called my sister on Thursday, November 10, 2005, and on Sunday, November 20, 2005, he baptized my 85 year-old mother, my 16 year-old nephew, and my 25 year-old niece in the wonderful name of Jesus!

My niece had not come to be baptized, only to watch. She told us she did not need to be baptized because she had already been baptized in the titles three months ago. But after Pastor Hudspeth explained baptism in Jesus’ name and when she saw her cousin and grandmother go down in Jesus’ name, she decided she wanted to be baptized, too. When she came out of the water with stammering lips, she said, “Now I know why I needed to be baptized in Jesus’ name. Being baptized in the titles didn’t feel like this!”

My sister sat down at the piano, and we all sang the most beautiful rendition of “Amazing Grace” you have ever heard. The tears were flowing and the angels were rejoicing!

Besides that wonderful answer to prayer, the week before, my son-in-law was praying after Sunday morning worship and asked Pastor Scott Graham of Florissant, MO to baptize him in Jesus’ name!

Do not quit praying for your family members. God is still on the throne, listening to every word you utter!
