Print January 30, 2006 Many have probably already heard about the outstanding Because of the Times conference that took place in Louisiana on January 17-20, 2006. My pastor attended this conference; when he returned, he shared the Rev. Jeff Arnold’s preaching video with our church. The message has so consumed me that every day I think about it. Bro. Arnold began with Romans 8:32, and his message was entitled “The Three Greatest Words.” The punch line? “I am persuaded.” Those are life’s three greatest words. As simple as the message sounds, if allowed, it will crawl into the innermost depths of who you are and change the way that you view the world and yourself and your ministry. First of all, God does not have superstars, He only has servants. If we are persuaded that we are able to be His servant, then nothing can stop the soul winning that we can do. I know it sounds so simple, but as Apostolics, do we really grasp the simplicity of Christ’s message? Some important concepts from his message: · Small things can hinder your ministry─the outlook you have on life, the way you conduct yourself, etc. · The will of God can be painful at times, but in the end, it is always beautiful. · If we are persuaded that what we have is truth, then we can walk through hell and still rejoice; we can lose loved ones to death and still rejoice; we can do all things and our hearts can break, yet we are clinging to our God! · We will not have to deal with modesty issues and hair issues and ‘sin’ issues if we are persuaded that the Kingdom of Heaven and our salvation is the most important thing in this life. · There must be more than feeling and hype and emotion in your walk with the Lord. · The truth is eternal and you have to take the truth to persuade others. · If you are filled with fear of tomorrow and doubts about your life and the direction you must go, become persuaded that Jesus alone can direct you, and order your steps. · Jesus’ enemies were persuaded that He would cast them out of whatever they possessed, they knew who He was, they knew His power, they were persuaded that they were about to lose territory. As humorous as it sounds, we should be as persuaded about the Lord and His miracles as our enemies are! · Promises you make to the Lord are revelations of divine intention. Live your life and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and His healing eternal power as if you have to persuade the whole world. And actually, that is exactly what we must do. People can be held hostage by the lack of their understanding. Rather, become so persuaded about how awesome God is that others around you cannot help but be convinced and persuaded of the truth as well!
