My One Roll
By Tiffini Countaway

Crescent rolls are among my favorite foods,
so you can imagine my delight when we had them the other night for dinner at my
parent’s house. As I walked through the door, I was instantly lured in by the
wonderful odor. As we sat down to dinner and the roll basket was being passed,
I was already greedily thinking about how many rolls I would take—at least two,
maybe three. I guess every one else at the table had the same thought because
by the time the basket arrived at my seat there were only two left and still one
more person to go.
My mother must have seen the disappointment
on my face. As I took my one roll and passed the basket, my mother softly said,
“There are more in the oven.” Joy leapt in my heart. More rolls were on the
way, and there would definitely be more than enough to go around.
There have been times I have been sitting at
the table of life staring down into my basket praying that it would be full. As
I am about to give up and pass my basket, it’s at that moment that God whispers
in my ear, “There is more on the way.”
We never have to worry about our needs for
we have a loving Father in heaven who loves us and wants to “…supply all
your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”
(Philippians 4:19).
So I’ll be happy with my one crescent roll;
I know my heavenly Father will be bringing more my way soon.

recently celebrated her 1 year anniversary with her hubby Andrew on a cruise.
Despite both of them getting seasick they enjoyed being away from St. Louis,
eating fabulous food, and purchasing an Itzhak Tarkay serigraph.
