Childlike Wonder: Two Poems
By Micah Wisdom
June 11, 2006
Child’s Thoughts
I am too young to know this
My bed is a floor
I eat whatever I can find
My face stays dirty
My clothes stay soiled
Nothing is shielded from entering my mind
I see everything but love
My life is over before it starts
Sad story
Who cares?
Nobody
“…until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden
things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts…”
(I Corinthians 4:5)
Wonder
You wonder what is wrong with me
You disgustingly shake your head
He is crazy
He is pathetic
He is a waste
I see those thoughts scroll through your mind
I wish you would stop and listen
Let me tell my story
You would apologize
You would cry
You would understand
You would never be the same
But, it’s easier just to wonder
“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous
judgment.” -John 7:24
