Letters

July 9, 2007

The sweltering heat has taken a hold of St. Louis. At this point there are only two places to be (in my opinion)—surrounded by water/in the water or in air-conditioning. I am curled up reading a wonderful book of George Washington; by the looks of me you’d think that it was 20 degrees out instead of 90-plus; that’s Summer for you!

On a side note, there are other things besides Summer that are heating up—our two new group blogs Notes and Word are really pulling out the silent ones and the fascinating comments! If you’re the least-bit interested in music/songwriting or books/writing, then these are the blogs for you, with each day featuring a different Apostolic.

Re: Romance Without Dating

The person who said, “Romantic intentions is what makes an outing a date” is the most intelligent person who responded to this survey. Bingo—you win! If, in addition to being a genius, you are a Victoria’s Secret model, I will devote my life to you.

Let me know.

Re: “Acts today in the Philippines

I have just read your letter here on the web and I am encouraged. I am a Pentecostal Missionary from Australia with Aid to Life Ministries residing in Cagayan de Oro City. I have been coming here for seven years, and now live here. God has given me a vision for Mindanao to spread the fire of God out from CDO. As I visit churches and address leadership, I am calling the church back to its heritage and foundation of the church, found in the book of Acts and challenge them to lay hands on and see the power of God move with fire as it was at Pentecost.

Sad as it seems, the Pentecostal church has begun to compromise their stand with the baptism of the Holy Ghost, it would also seem to me that the church no longer say “silver and gold have I none” nor am I hearing “in the name of Jesus rise up and walk.” Church leaders in the Philippines have to be challenged to lay hands on it’s an integral part of Acts. The word is used 22 times but because of 13-cent Islamic background it’s an offence to lay hands on here. However, when I cut and break ancestral ties and lay hands on, God moves with fire. Laying on of hands is a part of the ascension gifting of Ephesians 4:11.

As an Apostle I see no reason to compromise the word of God to please men; we are called to please God and you and I and ministers, teachers, pastors, and evangelists must call the church back to its roots and we will see numbers added day by day as the church devotes itself to prayer and the Apostles teaching.

Keep up the good work and spread the fire because it is the only thing that will refine Catholicism, communism, freemasonry and the Islamic religious spirit. God is God and just to deliver on His Word when we a faithful with integrity to His Word.
