Johnathan Dean will be leading worship at the general sessions of the UPCI’s North American Youth Congress in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the Student Music Minister and POA Worship Leader of the Pentecostals of Alexandria in Alexandria, LA.
He answered our questions on June 26, 2007.
---------
90&9: What’s the first NAYC you attended and what do you
remember?
JD: I was actually too young to remember where it was (early teens) and remember being overwhelmed by the arena size. Thought I was at an NBA game. :)
90&9: What’s your favorite NAYC memory?
JD:
Getting to actually sit in the audience with our students for a change. Love that!
90&9: What do you see as the biggest challenge for Apostolic youth
today?
JD: Staying real with the real issues in the world instead of pretending that the issues aren’t there; and making sure that I’m not so “event” driven that I forget the purpose of why I am ministering.
90&9: (Excluding the Bible and family), I can’t live without…
JD:
Not a fair question because I have a new baby boy.... Soooooo, my answer is
obviously music. I can’t live without music or worship or some way
of expressing my musical outlet.
90&9: The last item I downloaded was…
JD:
The new version of “I Am Free” by the Newsboys on their album Go—new
verse and a tag that I like on it.
