Re: “Ruth: Submission; also Submission is Not a Synonym

Submission is about embracing the Will of God. It is about agreeing with God in His divine order, plan and purpose.

For too many years ‘Submission’ has been thought of as pertaining to women, in particular the ‘submissive wife to husband.’ It is time we let go of this narrow thinking and discover the great and glorious truth of this word, ‘Submission’—that many men and women find so difficult.

Submission covers every facet of our walk with the Lord, be we male or female, married or unmarried. It is through Submission alone that we truly become the divine agent/instrument of God, whether single or married, male or female.

I suggest reading my book, “The Power and Purpose of Submission,” for a deeper and greater understanding of this subject.

This book was born through much prayer and sincere searching of The Word because of my own frustrations regarding this subject in my younger years.

Many of the frustrating struggles I experienced were directly related to misunderstanding submission. I saw it only as a ‘woman’ issue and that focus is too narrow. Submission is a ‘male & female’ issue! It is a ‘human’ issue! Submission is a subject that I have now been privileged to teach for more than ten years in the Women’s Class at The Apostolic Church in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Re: “State of Apostolic Music

I wanted to comment on these thoughts. I just produced a CD, & am also at a loss on how to exactly market it. I was also surprised my CD collection does not have more Apostolic artists in it. I’ve noticed over the years, not being raised in Pentecost, the dumbing down of the music world, in the world. My fear is that it is affecting the last musical bastion...the Church. I’m the band director at my church, & found quite by mistake that when a good musical challenge is presented with good examples to back it up, young people will meet that challenge. The lack of good musical education in our school system today is having ill effect. Kids listen to too much junk today that does not challenge them, or teach them good musicianship. Our Apostolic Churches may be the last place these things can happen in. This is why it is even more important to teach our young people to stay away from worldliness. We need to pool together as Apostolic musicians & leaders, and share ideas, & concerns with each other. Basically network together. I had hoped the UPC Pentecostal Music Association would become this, but it has not moved to this purpose, & seems very closed. We need a site, & better yet a trade association for Apostolic Musicians to unite, & further the various local church music programs.
