A voice cries in the wilderness . . .

With the present state of the world, how will revival really look in the 21st century? Technology and societal developments have put up barricades making the present church-model archaic and irrelevant—that is, if the church truly desires to “reach the masses,” as advertised. So the church throws its hands up in frustration and asks, “What then should we do?”

Two possibilities arise:

          1. Build higher fences to protect ourselves and damn the cyber-generation to hell.

          2. Listen to the whisper of the Holy Spirit and allow God to develop new and seemingly dangerous methods to reach this lost and perverse cyber-generation.

The Answer in a Song

Amidst this quandary, the Lord is building a rising army of young Apostolics. This army consists of those who are willing to listen to His whispers, especially when His voice challenges that which has become the norm for church traditionalists. This army sees the darkness bent on mutilation, and is not intimidated because it knows that Jesus conquers every enemy. The goal of this army—use any means to save souls from the clutches of Satan’s slimy grasp. Are you one of those who are hearing this, the Lord’s message?

As this army is quietly assembled, the Lord needs able-bodied recruiters. These recruiters are designed to equip the anointed assembly with the message that will triumph in this new, and potentially final, era.

Meet James Avery Simms—a musician/producer emerging as a commissioned Prophet of love. Simms’ second CD takes the Apostolic message where it has seldom ventured—into the realm of hip-hop and R&B—with profound effect. For instance, “Army,” begins with:

      We are an army

      and this is a war

We gonna stand and fight against the evil in the world

      and we will win.

Some will argue that the Lord would never use these “worldly” musical genres to tell of His coming. They don’t hear the whisper, and this album isn’t for them.

Simms brings it real—calling on the church to end its judgmental self-righteousness, while offering an alternate message of love. In the face of war—love; in the face of abortion—love; in the face of confusion—love; in the face of anything that the world might bring against us—the church has been called to love unconditionally as Christ first loved us. This is the message that will reach and conquer the world, and James Avery Simms delivers it with impact.

Wise Fishing

If you’ve read this far, reward yourself with a visit to his MySpace page. But be warned; this is the storefront for Simms’ ministry, and not all of his “friends” and their comments reflect holiness. Simms is baiting cyber-fish with his music; hooking them with his message; and then he is trusting that the Lord will send a member of His army to bring these lost souls into the fullness of Christ’s love. For God so loves the world that new methods must be used to tell them the age-old Gospel message.

If you can’t resist the lusts that naturally present themselves on cyber-spaces, do not go to Simms MySpace page. Instead visit the Web site for the album, www.jsimmsmusic.com.

When looking to purchase the album, don’t confuse it with Simms first release, My World. Though the first album was good, this second album shows tremendous maturity, both musically and spiritually. It is being independently distributed, but it should soon be available through www.pentecostalpublishing.com, or you can contact him directly through one of his sites.

Whispers of Victory

All indications show that Simms has a brighter day coming. Supporting him now means supporting him on the ground floor, with no place to go but up. He is one of the best God has to offer. This album is a voice in the wilderness, and it’s a little too relevant to make traditionalists sit comfortably.

Yet if you’ve already heard the Lord’s whisper, then Simms’ prophecies of love will not surprise you; rather they will bring you great joy and hours of enjoyment.
