Reader's responses to The Big Question.

April 14, 2008

The Question: If you could create your own list of “modern sins” what would be at the top?

The Answer: “Thou shalt not covet. It's just as modern today as the day God gave it to Moses.”

The Answer: “Unbelief; absence of faith.”

The Answer: “Internet pornography.”

The Answer: “Thou shalt not talk to someone in the room with you at the same time you're talking on the phone! At least don't do that to me--so irritating! If you would rather talk to the person in front of you, either excuse yourself or hang up the phone!”

The Answer: “Wearing blue jean on blue jean!”

The Answer: “Time wasted in front of that there computer monitor.”

The Answer: “Passing judgment on everything under the sun.”

The Answer: “1. Pentecostal young people being as worldly as they can on MySpace, Facebook, EC, even PZ, and trying to act like they're holy in church. 2. The Christian Rock lie. 3. Apathy. 4. Humanism.”

The Answer: “Laziness.”

The Answer: “The 'my holiness is better than your holiness' attitude. Rather than churches pulling together as the body of Christ with an ultimate goal of reaching a lost and dying world, we split along fissures of things that are ultimately very trivial.”

The Answer: “Self-absorbency/self-inflation seen on various social websites (e.g., MySpace, Facebook, etc.); internet, pornography; and bootlegging music/DVDs, etc., off of the Web.”

The Answer: “Creating lists of sins!”
