Letters

When we only have one letter I usually feel that it is my opportunity to either talk about something that has been on my heart for a long time, or just completely bore you with my life--so I decided to bore you--you will understand after this intro why I don't blog!

Our life is crazy busy and it's rare that there isn't something going on. Here is an example: In the past week, I have been to several going away parties, a wedding, taken kids to camp every day (my child plus friends), picked kids up from swimming (kids I look after), helped with youth pastor's going away party, helped with Sacrifice to Summons, had an allergic reaction, found out my brother could possibly have cancer, gone on a trip, sold some furniture online--all this besides all of the normal responsibilities of life. I'm tired, and I want to just read a book and not converse with anyone, then reality sets in and there just isn't time to completely retreat--that's when I must stop myself and ask the Lord to help me and give me peace. The amazing thing is in all the craziness, He always does--what an amazing God!

Thanks to everyone who is submitting articles. If you haven't in a while, scribble something down and send it in. The zine is about your Christian journey.

Re: “T D Jakes at UPC in Brooklyn”

Greetings. I don't want to offend anyone. However, I have a concern and a question: I purchased a teaching series on “The Tabernacle” by T D Jakes. I purchased it because I have always enjoyed his preaching and remarkable insights. However, in this teaching he mocks our holiness standards making the erroneous statement that we believe that “Jesus died for a dress code.” I have been in the Apostolic movement for 32 years now and have never heard any of our United Pentecostal preachers say that Jesus died for a dress code. Should churches and Pastors connected with the United Pentecostal Church be associating themselves with someone who is disrespectful of our stand on separation from the world? People get saved and delivered all the time in United Pentecostal crusades and services without bringing in those who would seem to be trying to undermine what we stand for. Is it not an act of disrespect and lack of submission to the United Pentecostal church for its ministers to invite people who mock us to their churches? Just a question...
