Me--Fallen Chains

When you put
a CD in the player for the first time, what do you hope to hear?
I hope to hear several songs--not just one--that have original instrumentation
that do not forget the voice, lyrics that are put together as by
a poet engaging both the heart and head, and, finally, if the CD
proclaims to be Christian, the tracks need to uplift God and not
just be G-rated.
Fallen Chains
is an independent Apostolic alternative Christian band from Wisconsin.
Their debut CD Cover Me contains 12 tracks that are original,
poetic, and glorify God. Cover Me focuses on forgiveness,
being set free from sin, God's love, and holiness.
“It's a Miracle”
is a slow-to-moderate tempo song that expresses amazement that God
would choose to die for us:
Die for me,
die for me, how your pain could set me free
For Your
love held me higher than my sin could bury me
It's a miracle
that You would die for me
“Freed by Your
Love” is a moderate tempo song thanking God for His forgiveness:
Drowning
in this sea of mud,
You rescued
me again
Washed me
white in Your own blood,
You've given
me Your name
“Drive” is an
up-tempo song calling us to get out and make a difference:
Drive by
the Spirit's flame
Driven by
a One-God Name
Let the nitrous
in you light the sky
“Jean Skirt
Girl” is an up tempo song that does two things I never thought a
song could do at the same time--promote holiness and express romantic
love. Fallen Chains has this and a few other songs from Cover
Me on their MySpace
page for listening or download.
Cover Me has 12 tracks that have all found a home on my
MP3 player and would make a great addition to any contemporary Christian
music collection.
