Pentecostals
of Alexandria Youth Pastor Chris Endsley will be speaking at a split
session of the UPCI's North
American Youth Congress. We wanted
to ask him a few questions about his Youth Congress experiences,
as well as challenges facing young Christians today.
90&9:
What's the first NAYC you attended and what do you remember from
it?
CE: The
first NAYC that I attended was Little Rock, AR 1995. I remember
purchasing a hyper-color “No Fear” t-shirt (cool then) and I remember
my girlfriend (also, cool then) of a few months breaking up with
me to explore her more than 12,000 options. I was devastated but
rebounded quickly once I realized that I too had more than 12,000
options to explore.
90&9: What do you see as the biggest challenge for Apostolic
youth today?
CE: I think the biggest challenge for Apostolic youth is to
redefine Christianity through their lives and less with their words.
To liberate generations after them with the message of love and
truly accept the challenge to follow Him. To not
only love to live, but to also live to
love by rebelling against the low expectations placed on them
by society and today's culture.
90&9: Please share the impact, if any, that social networking
and Web 2.0 has made on your ministry or you personally.
CE: Twitter. Need I say more?
90&9: Please name a person who has mentored you and describe
how and why they've impacted your life.
CE: Terry Shock and Tim Rutledge. They have impacted my life
through their consistency to remain them while encouraging
me to be me.
90&9: (Excluding God, the Bible and family), I can't live
without…
CE: My beloved iPhone
90&9: The last item I downloaded was…
CE: An app called Waterslide. It was for my 6 year old son,
Jackson.
Other Noteworthy downloads include:
Johnathan Dean's new album, “FLOW” (iTunes)
Royal Tailor's album, “Love Like This” (iTunes)
