Right Now, I'm Halfway Finished Reading...
Another great WWII book, this one, Flags of our Fathers is about the Marines landing on Iwo Jima. The book has a slow startup, laying the groundwork behind each character. But when they hit the beach, this is one tough book to put down. I haven't rented the dvd yet, but hoping to complete the book, first. So, please, whenever possible: hug a WWII vet today!

Stu, my dad is a WWII Marine. He was one of two men from his battalion to survive Iwo Jima. He married my mom who is a WWII Navy vet. I get to hug them both on a regular basis.
Theresa,
I'm in awe of your Dad, the amazing accomplishment of capturing Iwo Jima...plus, without getting killed. Amazing to think that tomorrow is the anniversary of that famous photo of the guys raising the flag on Suribachi.
Please tell your father that he's still a hero in anybody's book: Americans.
