Modern culture of resentment

I don't know about you, but I feel resentment building more and more toward Christians and Christianity given the current political climate. So when I ran across the following quote in My Utmost for His Highest devotional, I thought it was so on target.

If by your preaching you convince me that I am unholy, I resent your preaching. The preaching of the gospel awakens an intense resentment because it must reveal that I am unholy. . . .
