NAYC Fashion Observances……from JK1

I tried to keep a keen eye on all the fashion trends. Here are my only comments:

To all the Pentecostal guys out there who are still trying to sport the short ties, elongated suit jackets (aka skirts), and the flipped over collar on the suit jacket – Two words: Stop it! No, I’m serious, you’re embarrassing yourself. You can thank me later.

To the gals – In all due respect, I’m still trying to figure this one out – What is the purpose of the overgrown flower protruding out of the hair? If someone wants to explain, please do.

Here are a couple of other fashion questions if anyone is interested in answering:

Is the traditional suit and tie (for guys) a dieing trend?
Should guys be allowed to wear hot pink shirts?
Is it the trend now to wear flip-flops with a dressy outfit?

Throughout the event, I noticed a few standout fashion statements, such as the following:

A girl wearing neon-flashing high heels (different, but cool)
A guy wearing a chef’s hat (weird)
A guy wearing a shower cap (weirder)
A guy wearing a flashing belt buckle (not sure about this one)
A girl sporting cowboy boots (Yee-haw!)
A ton of “Vote for Pedro” tshirts (now that’s funny!)
A guy wearing a dress shirt with tie, but the collar was flipped up (okay, even weirder)
Last, but not least, what’s a Pentecostal event without seeing the biggest, most outrageous, gravity-defying – did I say BIGGEST? – Pentecostal hair dos!

ROCK ON to all of you who dare to be different. I like that in a person.

You should pay more attention to God then all of these worldly fashions. When you wear the fashions of this world then you are worldy. i would also like to say that it's not Holy. It seems like instead of Pentecostal, it's plenty crosstal. It seems like anything goes.

Pentecostal is going down the drain, we are supposed to be Holy and dedicated to God. You ain't supposed to be wearing anything that draws attention to your body. It's a sin. Whether you claim to Pentecostal or not. Also we are Christians, we're not supposed to be like Rock On, it's of the devil. SO is cutting hair, wearing pants, makeup,JEWELRY, pagan holidays such as christmas, contemporary music, television, should I go on. If you are for God then make it known, if not then quit pretending

Pentecostals are not going down the drain! For crying out loud I hope you dont really believe that. Sure , you are going to have the kids who are not sold out to the extent that they need to be. But who am I to judge where they are at in there walk with God? We still have to show God's love to them and work to help them become a better christian, not shove a list of do's and donts at 'em. that is not our job. God has to do that from the inside out, other wise THAT would be pretending. It is easy to walk into a church and see people not living to your expectations of Pentecost, but what that shows to me is that that church is growing and with growth you will have diversities like that, because not everyone will be perfect when they recieve the Holy Ghost. I hope that i somehow encouraged you. Jesus is Lord
