Memorial day

When you say memorial day a few distinct words come to mind. Flags, food, snowcones, and softball! We have the best picnick in the country. In our new family life center we have too many loooong tables just filled with the best foods and desserts. Right before we eat we have a bike parade with kids bikes and mens motercycles all decorated up in flags and ribbons. Then we all go out front and the scouts raise the flag while we have a moment of silence and then pray. Then lots of food is eaten and games are played. We play softball and basketball late into the night! Its a great weekend where many visitors are connected and introduced to our church! Wish us luck! Questions, comments, concerns? No time to breath

Well things are already starting to get busy. I woke up early saturday to meet my youth pastor at the church. We had to go to a rental place and pick up all kinds of equipment for our memorial day picnick on monday. We picked up moon walks, a dunking booth, another moon walk and two snow cone machines! After that I rushed out and picked up to kids for a sheaves for christ reward party at a local food/amusment center. After we were done and dropped the kids off I rushed to the other side of Atlanta to pick up a gift card for my youth pastors anniversary. I then came home and cleaned up my room and living room so my old youth pastor could come over for dinner with is family. Concluding that I went to a friends graduation party, played some ball, got cleaned up and I still have to go to our saturday night mens prayer meeting. What a day! They simply wont let me sit down here, this all is leading up to a great weekend and a awesome memorial day picnick. Questions, comments, concerns? Please feel free to E-mail me!

Nothing like it

One thing that I think is universal that will never change no matter where I go or who serves me is momma's cooking! I love it! I didnt realize how much I had actually missed the way she could cook everything to perfection or to my liking. Everyones mom or dad cooks certain dishes a specific way their whole lives and thats what they love, that is their favorite, no questions asked. I tore my moms green beans and squash up this evening at dinner time! Who would of thought?? I was actually planning on losing a little weight this summer but at the rate that I am going I don't think that thats going to be quite possible. Questions, comments, concerns? Settled in

Well I was quick to get back into the swing of things into the house. Yes I have enjoyed the excellent cooking of my mom, my own bathroom that doesn't require sandles to bathe, and a soft bed. I also have gotten back to some chores, some I used to have some that Im trying to act grown up and do on my own. Laundry is a new one for me, taking out trash, doing dishes, and to top it all off today I got to trim all the shrubs and put pinestraw down for the landscaping. Oh its going to be a fun summer! Putting all sarcasm aside home is great and the family always treats me good. Church has been awesome, my first youth service back we had one girl recieve the Holyghost. Lots of work and things to do but Gods going to do great things and Im definately excited to be home!

Home sweet Home!

Well I took a two hour nap friday night and groggily woke up to face my dreaded road trip home. I packed my things, and stopped at the gas station. Everyone has got to have their own road trip foods. You know, the soda, water, candy, chips, chocolate, whatever it is that you love to snack on to keep you awake and happy on your road trip. I loaded up on my mountain dew, water, beef jerky, sour twizzlers, peanut butter m&m's, sunflower seeds and m&m's! These are just a few my favorite road trip foods. Suprisingly enough I was very alert and awake most of the night. As I was driving through chattanooga the sun started to come up and I was soon in Georgia. The Ironic thing about my trip was that I left at night to avoid traffic and busy roads. The trip was great but 30 minutes of my house, the final stretch when you want to leave your car soo bad, I came up on a parking lot of cars. The bad thing was the parking lot was on the highway! A tractor trailor had wrecked and spilled something all over the road and they had a clean up crew trying to clear the mess. I was soo close from home, I was about to go crazy. After an hour long wait I finally made it home to my wonderful house. There is nothing like coming back home after being away! I'll fill you in later on my exciting adventures that involved unpacking!

Hitting the road

Well it is finally time to make my journey back to Georgia. My Toyota Forunner is fully loaded with all of my gateway clothes and books and other junk that Iv'e collected over the past year. Im not very fond of traveling long distances, especially during the day. So my plan is to load up on a few mountain dews, roll the windows down and put some good country music on and head out about 12 tonight. I dont dare tell my mom Im heading home because she always worries and would probably be up the whole night as well. Today was kind of a sad day. A young lady that I was pretty fond of and hung around this school year had to leave today. I took her to the airport and we said our goodbyes. The worst part of the school year was saying goodbye to all my friends that I had made and people I had gotten close to. It's a hard thing but Im very thankful for the lifelong friends that Iv'e made during my time at Gateway. Wish me luck on the long journey home. I'll update another post when Im in the promise land, Georgia's on my mind! Questions, comments, concerns? Please feel free to E-mail me!
