Closing out the week

Reeee-vival
Wednesday was our second revival service of the month, and the sanctuary was chock full of visitors. Our youth group threw theirselves into gear and invited friends.

It was so great after church to go outside to my car and see all these kids running around outside, and know there were still so many people inside fellowshipping. I guess that may be a feeling that you would only know if you attend a small church, but I know that God is really going to do something in this revival.

The plan is this: Sunday nights* and Wednesday nights through the month of September will be regularly scheduled services with our evangelist preaching. Throughout the week, we will be bombarding our neighborhoods with doorknocking. There are many backsliders in the area that we have been praying to return.

On a side note - the evangelist is rather shortwinded.

You will not hear me complain about this.

Fire from the holy ... roast?

Shout out to Kentucky Section U!

Tomorrow night is our yearly sectional bonfire youth rally. Normally it is held in October, but that usually just invites rain and cold. This Friday is forecasted to be in the lower 80's.

Therefore, what to wear? In times past, it is cool enough to wear a sweater, boots, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, but it's still flip-flop weather. You won't catch me near a bonfire in flip-flops though, I like my toes raw.

I wish it were cool enough to call up Lee Ann and borrow her ensemble.

Responsible citizens help the economy
That would be me, helping the economy. I bought a new phone.

Sweet, isn't it? I hope someone somewhere is eating a good meal because I bought a new toy I didn't need.

*Sunday mornings are a whooole 'nother post - stay tuned

I'm excited to hear that the outreach is going so well! I've been praying for a mighty move of the HG in your revival!! For your bonfire, I'd still recommend taking some extra layers, depending on how long it goes, you still might get a little chilly. (Please, oh, please, wear some real shoes! I kind of like your feet raw, too!) Sorry, the "Mom" in me had to sneak out again. Love you!

Awww, Liz's mom taking care of her!

Liz you're doing a great job blogging here. You're so faithful to comment on my blog to help me avoid the "brick wall" syndrome and I must confess I've had to sit here today and read back for most of what you've written this month. That's awesome on the door knocking. We had a great Saturday doing the same thing. Allow me to share (But to keep my own comment from becoming a seperate blog entry) We did a scavenger hunt for a needy family. Each team was given a list of food items which we were only allowed to take one from each house. That gave us the opportunity to witness to people and collect food for someone who really needs it. It was really fantastic!
