Advice from the World Traveler!

I love to refer to myself as the world traveler, although I've only been to 2 other countries. But hey, this is my blog for the month, so just go along with me. There are some important things I can pass along to you.

Rule #1:
In England, the peace sign (Think Nixon) is actually the same as "flipping someone off."

How Do I Know This?
I'm at this Cathedral checking out this statue of baby Jesus. The priest woman inside is looking at me. I smile back at her like the nice American tourist. I go back to observing the statue and mention to my mom that Baby Jesus is trying to give the peace sign. In this statue he has his pointer and middle finger up, but they are together and not parted. So I make the peace sign gesture (fingers apart) while commenting about baby Jesus to my mother. The priest woman is still eyeing me, now with a different expression. I really can't recall what brought the subject back up later that day, but one of my cousins informed me that I was indeed flipping Baby Jesus off. Boy, did I felt like the dumb American tourist for sure!
