Remix!

Tonight was phenomenal; let me share!!

Last October, our church began having regular youth services on Wednesday Nights, called REMIX. With basically a dream and little talent, two other incredible youth leaders and I took on this new task, jumping in head first. It's been tough, especially since none of us had any previous experience in the youth ministry or running a service for that matter. So with a lot of help from God and others, we have been trudging along.

It's been hard; I won't lie. Sometimes I felt like we weren't getting anywhere with the youth, and I doubted our efforts. Tonight, it paid off. During REMIX one of the most precious young girls you will ever meet got the Holy Ghost! I am on cloud nine!

I have no explanation for the awesome service except God showed up. The kids had a new excitement. They were worshipping and really getting into the music. One of the leaders spoke tonight on dying to ourselves, taking up our cross, and following God. He had us all write a couple of things down on a piece of paper that we wanted to surrender to God. We took that paper and stuck it on a cross in the front of the sanctuary. From there, kids started to pray and weep before God. It was an amazing service, that not only encouraged the youth, but me as a leader as well.

I felt like a proud mom. To see those kids praying in the altar, pouring their heart out to Jesus was inspiring. I stand amazed at God's work.

Kin [k in]. --noun/verb. Family, relative, related to
The Bible says we are kin to each other through the blood of Jesus. I guess that means I got a new kin folk tonight!
