Roll Out the Faded Red Carpet

My Acceptance Speech

I’d first like to thank God for blessing me with the ability to entertain 37+ people as a blogger. Without His help, I wouldn’t be here, and someone else would. I’d also like to thank Mr. Kent Curry for inviting me to share my inane musings with you. I’m sure he’ll regret this come June. And to a special lady who inspired me to share my life with people who have never met me in person all via the World Wide Web. Thanks for encouraging me to make a fool out of myself for the whole world to see!

Introductions

All joking aside, I do feel honored to be invited as a blogger here on 90&9. I’m a bit nervous to tell you the truth. I do blog on a regular basis, but it’s different at my own site. If you don’t like it, then don’t read it. However, being on someone else’s site puts the pressure on me to give the people what they want. Hopefully I can do that this month!

For those of you have never met me, here is the formal introduction:

My name is Kimberly Rigney. I’m 23 years old and happily single. I live in the Mississippi Delta and attend a UPCI church where I serve as one of the Youth Leaders and the Drama Team Director. I also teach Junior High and High School History and supervise the Yearbook Staff in a local public school. If I sound familiar it’s because I have written articles for 90&9 before, most recently about my trip to Italy with SAM.

Any other important information can be discovered at my personal blog or in posts here throughout the month of May!

Here’s the Deal

I plan on blogging every day. However, the school computers block the blogger.com website. Therefore, I will only be blogging in the evenings from here on out. I will try my hardest not to bore you with “You’ll never believe what my dumb student did today” stories. However, as a teacher, I do feel it is my duty to educate the readers.

I’ve asked myself what I have to offer that other “Month in My Life” bloggers have not offered. The answer? Southern Vernacular! So, periodically I will throw in a Southern term at the end of my post with its definition. I’ll try and keep you learning something new everyday! (This will probably help you Yankees translate the posts!)

I look forward to our month together!

**Today’s Southern Term**
y’all
or ya. [yawl, yuh] – pronoun. To be used in the place of you or you all.
I hope y’all enjoy my blog, ya hear!
