A Month in the Life

I agree that J.D.'s group was very cool. It was interesting to see the antics of the praise and worship "supergroup". But just be careful to avoid confusing cool and exciting with annointing. I am not saying they were not annointed. They did lead the kids into worship, and what a time we had Thursday night!! However, I expect God would have moved as powerfully, if not moreso without all the theatrics displayed by the group. As for them being the new standard by which all the rest will be compared, keep this in mind. Aside from the fact that the group was made up of people who had the Holy Ghost, there was no difference between what we saw onstage, and what one would see at a Hillsong event. It is a sad day indeed when we think we need to emulate a group like Hillsong to have 'quality worship'. For all you worship leaders out there, just remember, it doesnt matter whether you have the latest praise songs at your disposal, or if you still use the hymnal, you just make sure that every time you step up to lead the song service, you are prayed up and sensitive to the spirit...and God will bless you and the congregation!
