rkh (Rachael) Thursday am session with TF Tenny

Day sessions today were great, of course… A few notes from the Young Ministers sessions with T.F. Tenny.

“Obedience is God’s excuse to bless you”
“The greatest ability is stickability”

"Old age is not for sissys”

“Your five senses are good evangelists for unbelief”
“God is committed to character not charisma or talent”

“We keep pulling ourselves up by the roots and wonder why we don’t grow”

“I’d rather have a man with a poor memory than a man with a poor forgetter”

“Whatever music you heard when you were 14 or 15 is your kind of music… I walked in last night and covered my ears”

“It’s a different age, but it doesn’t matter as long as it is in Spirit and Truth”

“I have core values that kept me able to stand with the changes of music and style”

“I’ve had to learn to talk all over again”

“If your interested in full time ministry you’ve got to study, read, and listen”

“If you don’t study, you’re not approved”
“You are what you are in the dark”

“Many preachers are more interested in response than in content. They would rather preach them to their feet than to their knees.”

“God’s held me accountable for everything I preach. I have to live it before I preach it or shortly after.”
“Prayer is dependent on the One who hears it not the one who prays it. He isn’t a powerful prayer, God is a powerful hearer.”

“The three things that destroy ministry: power, sex, and money”
“You are going to be judged by what God calls you to do, not what you actually did.”

Comments:
Wouldn't you love to just have a book of "Tennyisms". I know I would.
