Something Old, Pictures : New
I promised yesterday that I would post pictures today once I downloaded everything from my external hard drive. Lucky for you, I did!
And, it seems that even though no one leaves me comments... people read my blog AND follow links to my sites! You like me! You really like me! I feel so loved. If only you would leave me comments!
Anyway... here are some photos of the wedding of Brandi and Justin that I did this past weekend. I stayed with the bride from noon until the end of the reception... a very busy day, but I wanted her to have all the pictures she could need or want. I've been working on the photos since Sunday (I got back in the wee hours of Sunday morning after driving back up from New Orleans) and am just starting ceremony pictures. That's a lot of pictures!
So here we go...these aren't in chronological order.
The first picture for your viewing pleasure:

The church actually did something really interesting during the ceremony, they had a worship service! Although I wasn't expecting it, I thought it was great and refreshing to worship God during the biggest ceremony of one's life. This is a shot of the couple in mid-worship. I love it because it shows the sincerity of these two and the fact that even though it was a day that was supposed to celebrate them and their marriage, they chose to honor God through worshipping Him.
The next one:

This was the first kiss as husband and wife. Let me explain how hard it was to get this picture. First of all... I was the shortest person there. Although that is a frequent occurance for me, there are always at least a few people only a few inches taller than me. No, no, no. The bride and groom towered over me, as did the pastor, the musicians, and attendants. And their platform was designed differently. Normally A/P churches have very open platforms with plenty of stairs. This one was set up more like a Catholic church... a very small narrow stair step thing in front with fancy wood work that went around the altar. Of course, this is where all the attendants stood. So, to get this, I had to - discreetly and without disrupting service - hop up to the top step (all 2 inches available) behind the maid-of-honor without hitting her, walk around the arch, and stand on my tippy toes to see past the pastor. It was a lot of work, but I think it came out great!
Numero tres:

Here is Justin putting the ring on Brandi's finger. This shot was made possible by my telephoto lens, which I thankfully switched to mid-ceremony. The only reason this came out so clear was because Justin had a little trouble actually getting the ring on. Since it took him a while, I was able to capture the shot. When Brandi went to put Justin's on, it was a different story. Not only was she shaking, but the thing slipped right on, so all I got was a blur. But it's really the girl's ring that matters anyway, right?
Just when you thought the photographer had such an easy job at the wedding... you learn the truth!
