On the road (and in the air) again ...
I couldn't blog about this until now because a surprise birthday party was in the mix, but ... just a few days after coming home from a week in Tennessee, I took off at 5:30 a.m. this morning to fly to Charlotte, NC, to attend a surprise birthday tea party for Becky Henderson, co-host of the show "Everyday Woman," for which I edit the website. She turned 30 today and her friends, coworkers and family members gathered at their ministry headquarters' new tea room and conference center for a celebration.
The food was divine: we started with chilled cantaloupe soup and a cinnamon breadstick. It was followed by the main course of asparagus, chicken skewers, cucumber rounds and a Mediterranean bruchetta and a dessert plate of petite fours, caramel creme and a chocolate-covered strawberry. Then there was birthday cake! Oh, and four different kinds of tea.
Tea parties, you've come a long way, baby.
(I'll post pix from my whirlwind trip after I get home.)
I'm now waiting on a flight back home (yes, the same day!) I'll be home about 2 in the morning and will be at praise & worship practice tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. (that is, if I wake up...)
