Just Another Day in paradise?
It's really cold outside...yeah yeah yeah I know what you are all thinking...I live in Canada...but its REALLY cold outside...I didn't warm my car up before I got into it after work and I shivered the whole ride home! Last week it was colder outside than it is this week but for whatever reason I just felt really cold tonight, the mercury is sitting at about 5 degrees, but with the windchill its about -10. Wow this is really interesting a Canadian talking about the weather...stating the obvious...ITS COLD!!!
Swap Talk!
I wasn't much into the whole "Wife Swap" fiasco at first to be completely honest with you, and I really have no thoughts on the subject that lean one way or the other, but I'm really looking forward to hearing the viewpoints of this family and seeing the actual show next week. Our fearless leader kdc gave a little taste of an interview with the apostolic family, that will be on the show, today on Collideoscope. I can't wait to see the rest of the interview!
Anyway that's it for me tonight, talk to you soon,
Luke

iPods, no longer!
I came across this article today regarding the use of iPods. It talks about how 3 people have been killed while crossing the street since September due to the fact that they were distracted by these electronics. While I think that this could potentially be a great legislation, how does one really enforce the issue. It seems to me as though there is really no specific way. Perhaps the NYPD could have a special unit called the iPod patrol, however I'm sure that there are more important things to devote time to. I guess time will tell what the final say is.

LONG DAY
Ok so today has had to have been the longest day of my entire life. Not for any one specific reason, but just cause it was plain old long. Yanno one of those days where you just know from only being awake for 3 minutes that its going to be crazy long...not a bad day but just a long day.
YX07 (February 16, 17, 18)
So I've already talked a bit about Youth Xplosion, but I'm really really excited about it. YX is a great weekend hosted by a great friend of mine, Student Pastor RL and his youth staff from CCC in Fredericton, New Brunswick. This year It'll be the 5th year that they have hosted this event for youth. This year the speaker will be Student Pastor from the POA, Tim Rutledge. Very Excited about what is going to happen. They really think outside the box when it comes to this weekend and its all about encountering God, which is so important for students. One other thing that they do is send out invitations to other youth groups from all across the city (yes even non Apostolics, ut oh) I received my music pack today and am very excited about some of the music we will be doing, this will be my fourth year involved playing in the band. (I wasn't able to be at the first year as I was away in my final year of College) I'll be giving you a synopsis of the weekend when it arrives and also may add some pictures!
Good Night
Well this Long day has got to come to an end...Hope you are all having a blessed day today! Talk to you soon,
Luke

Currently Listening To: Joe Pace and the Colorado Mass Choir - So Good (1998) (don't ask me why)
Well another weekend is behind me, I feel as though it hasn't been long enough once again, but it really has been relaxing. Sunday was a great day in church. We had our annual church breakfast and it was very very good, it was followed by devotions from one of our board members, he did a great job. Sunday night was great also, a message by our pastor entitled "Shut up Devil! God hasn't showed up yet!" I have a funny story about saying shut up from behind the pulpit: I was preaching at my home church about 3 years ago, I don't even remember what I said, but it was something along the lines of, you need to tell the devil Shut-up! And then I paused...And my then 4 year old niece said so everyone could hear, "Mommy Unkie Lukie Just said a bad word!" needless to say it added some comic relief! So yesterday was a very fulfilling day in Church. Isn't it great when you can say that Church was fulfilling!
And then after church, my predictions came true when the Colts beat the Bears in Superbowl XLI! ok so I have a little bit of a confession to make. I hardly followed NFL at all this year I was too infatuate with NCAA ball to care about the NFL. I'm not going to say anything more about this other than I was really disappointed when the buckeyes didn't pull it off against Florida, that's what I was hoping for, but alas there is always next year!
Make sure that you check out this weeks literature edition of 90 & 9. I found the article Essential literature: Titles that can't be missed, pretty much on target other than a couple of areas. One title that I found was missing was Death of a salesman, and I also thought that To Kill a Mocking Bird should have made the number one spot (JMHO). But I do have to say there is something very intriguing about this Sarah k. Holland, Hmmm...I find her very interesting. Anyway I must be off I've got a pot of coffee waiting for me, talk to you soon,
Luke
