Florida!!!!! YAY!
Well, this one is going to be short. Why? Because I'm leaving in about twenty minutes to head to FL to do a gig at a youth gathering/service/whatever you want to call it. And by gig, I mean that I'm just a hired guitarist, nothing special. ;) So I've been going through the whole, "Man, I'm SURE that I've left something out that I need to take." syndrome. But I double checked. And then checked again. So let's hope I get there with my toothpaste AND toothbrush. lol Anyway, this gig is with a few musicians that I travel with on a regular basis. As well as an old friend from IBC days long ago. Anyway, enough rambling. Pray that it goes good. And let's hope that my Mac doesn't crash in the middle of service. ;)

The Perfect Day
Hello all . . . again,
I've been losing track of my days lately. It sucks. But maybe that was the original intent. If we lose track of our days, then we can't control them, or live for ourselves or own agenda. But that's beside the point. I did, however, finally get some sleep. Not much, but it was better than nothing. I put on some Imogen Heap and drifted off like a wave. I was wonderful. Anyway, back from my tangent. Today's weather was BEAUTIFUL! I just wanted to walk around campus all day. It was that wonderful. The sun was shining through the trees; it looked like a leopard taking a nap on the concrete. And I started thinking, as I often do when inspired by God's wonder. lol The whole reason that I enjoyed today was because of the sunlight and warmth, but only because it was coupled with the "shadows" that were created by the sunlight shining through the trees around campus. So in going with this analogy, light and darkness that is, let's muse a little. Most people look forward to the amazing days with God. You know, the sunny only days. But a lot of the time, they fail to realize the beauty in their "dark" days. But when I walked into the shade created by the trees, the sun just jumped out at me. It wouldn't have had that effect without the darkness. The temperature was also a lot colder in the shade too. But if it's sunny all the time, eventually you'll dehydrate and die. Life takes a balance. A lot of the time we have a wrong "idea" of "ideal" as Christians. And don't get me started on that discussion. lol There are no throw away words in the Bible. This includes, "All things work together for the good . . ." All is a pretty "all-inclusive" word. ;)

The weekend from (you know where.)
GOODNESS!!!!!!!! HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!! GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!!! (and any other expression that you feel like using) That would describe my weekend. I am now sitting in the lobby of the University of Memphis, after staying up for 24 hours trying to get an assignment done. As you can guess, I'm tired, and it WASN'T fun. (ok, well it WAS a little fun, but music is ALWAYS fun to me.)
So this all started on Sunday morning. My church decided to have a huge "Kids Easter Service." Sounds great huh? Not so much. There were TONS of little 2 - 11 year olds SCREAMING EVERYWHERE! It was SO nerve racking. Then to top that off, on Monday night after a rather uninteresting night class, I had to collaborate with some classmates on a "fake" band assignment. Basically what happens is: We form a "band." We write a song. We record the song. Then we make press kits and what not and pitch the song to our professor. And the hitch is, If he "signs" us to his label, then we pass, if not, then we get the honor of retaking the course. So I was up, or have been up until this very moment rather, trying to nail down the final details of this little assignment. But it sounds AMAZING to say the least. Even if it is fake. Ok, now that I'm done complaining about how tired I am, let me just say that I am very heartbroken. The easter bunny died this year. By that I mean, I didn't get an Easter basket from ANYONE in my family. It was a very gut wrenching episode. rofl. jk.
Anyway, class is starting. Please pray for an "A" out of all this.
