The missing blog.

Since I know all my adoring fans were missing me in my absence . . . I will attempt to explain my lack of "bloggage" and do justice in making up for it with deep rhetoric and such. First things first. About my skipped blog . . .

1. I was tired.
2. I didn't really feel like blogging that night.
3. You try throwing up and blogging at the same time. ;)

Ok, next on the list . . . to blog or not to blog. lol Man I'm an idiot. Anyway, on to what's left of the point that I started with.

I'm thinking about taking up the Indian wood flute. What good that is to YOU, I have no idea. It's really fun to play though. You should try it. At least ONCE.

So . . . I hope this answered all of your questions. ;)

God is good.

Nothing else needs to be said really. No expounding or explaining to reiterate the fact that should already be known to everyone who is living/breathing/talking/(insert any other indigenous term here). I just have these days sometimes. You know, those days when everything in the universe seems to line itself up almost without trying, and surely without any help from you. Those times when you can only be certain that God is in control, or at least be thankful that you are not. I mean the mere fact that He would send correspondence to us through His Word is astounding to me. It's much more than a cool Pentecostal status symbol that you special order from PPH. It's the Word of God. It can't contradict itself. Not only that, but God can do anything . . . ANYTHING. Just take a moment to think about the worst problem that you are going through at the moment. Got it? . . . sure? . . . Guess what? . . . God can fix it. That's a piece of White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cheesecake to God. (sorry that sounded much more appetizing than just boring old "cake.") Anyway, I could ramble all night. Well . . . I guess it wouldn't be rambling, since I definitely have a defined point. lol But I reiterate, God IS good. All the time. I guess I've had to get my self to a place where I "don't need" as much information about things. i.e. maybe I DON'T need to know the outcome of EVERY situation that I get into. lol Just a thought. Maybe I do need to let God be God. Well, I've typed myself into a reverent, although very sleepy, state of affairs. So with that, I'll say, good afternoon, good evening and goodnight.

Man I hate titles. (So limiting)

Hi again,
So, random question, who are you voting for? Me . . . Obama. (I love to make people upset when I say that. All the hardcore "Christian Republicans" get ticked. lol) I'm kidding, decisions aren't that easy for me. But anyway, I digress. I am, at the moment, sitting in the studio finishing up the mixing for the track that we recorded last night. It sounds INCREDIBLE. Of course, why shouldn't it. lol. Regardless, I am exhausted. I REALLY need a nap. or two. or three. or four-hundred. But I'll just have to catch up on my sleep later. I have a paper to write, a surround mix to finish, AND a blog to actually put some substance in. lol Let's just hope I can tap into the substance part. Not doing so good thus far. I thought about driving down to Louisiana, just because. But then again, I could just drive down to the "middle-of-nowhere" Arkansas and visit this weekend and have the same amount of fun. (I apologize for the randomness of this entry, every once in a while I just ramble for about twenty minutes. I promise that the entries that succeed this one will be much better.) ;) Anyway, I'm boring myself. Bye.

Wow . . . What a weekend.

Where to start? Well, I guess I'll just start. First of all, hi. Welcome back. I've missed all of you deeply. Anyway, I had a blast this weekend. I went to FL to play a gig with "The Chantry Dean Band. A.K.A. "Chantry Dean and the Wide Eyes." It was awesome! It's always a "tad" bit more fun when you're doing something you like, or in my case, playing music every night. (that one goes out to those who need their "Billiam" fix) Now back from my tangent.

Ok, there's a really funny story regarding this FL trip. (and by funny, I mean in hindsight. lol) So we drove all night and pulled into FL about 6:30 or 7:00 on Fri. morning. We go to check into our hotel and they tell us that we don't have rooms. So we fuss for a little bit and call a few people and FINALLY get the keys to our alleged "non-existent" rooms. Upon riding the elevators to the 6th floor (the uppermost floor in the hotel) we get to our room and find out that our key won't work. SO . . . we send Chantry down to sort it out. He finally comes back with a working key and we get into our room, unload, put on some more comfortable clothes, and get in bed for the first time in 24 hours. Well, get this, not twenty minutes later . . . the fire alarm goes off! IT'S A STINKIN' FIRE DRILL!!!! and we're on the sixth floor, so by the time we get dressed and ready to go outside, the alarms stop. and we get back in bed. And then about 15 minutes later (after I've just gotten back to sleep) Kendra Shock calls me. (she's such an idiot. but I love her anyway. Maybe I'M the idiot.) lol But I DID actually get some sleep this weekend. Anyway, once I got home, the fun had just begun.

I had the experience of sitting in on a session with Multi-Grammy winning producer George Massenburg. Not only sitting in and watching, but actually PLAYING! It was SO cool. It was me, a girl named Amy Renfrow on piano, and Brian Vander Ark, the lead singer for The Verve Pipe, on guitar and vocals. I don't think I've had any more fun in my life. It was just the three of us sitting in a circle, Amy at the piano, me on the mandolin, and Brian with the guitar and singing. We were all miked up and the room was too, and we got the most natural performance that I've ever heard. Anyway, that was basically the consistency of my weekend/Monday. And the rest is . . . well . . . not history really . . . more like . . . history in the making. ;)

(btw, I stick by my view of who I think the best keyboardist in the world is. you know who you are. ;p )
