Are You Green?
The green theme was completely throughout this weekend. We had everything from all green lights in the chapel, to green t-shirts which asked "Are you green?" We brought in carpet which looked like grass, we hung leaves from the ceiling, we even went as far as to paint neon green strips in our youth chapel. I have been so inspired by this weekend and my new "green" life that I even decided to make this post green :)
The services included a video of Kermit the frog singing "It's not easy being green" and a brand new video from Pastor Robby challenging us to become green. We enjoyed awesome music by Theo, Page 5, and Flashpoint (youth bands from our church) and Student Pastor Cory Trimble from Murfreesburo, TN spoke and was unbelievable! Both nights he spoke about going out in our community and sharing the gospel with the outcasts and the "weirdos" that we run into on a day to day basis. He reminded everyone there that God did not only die for us, but homosexuals and goths and emos and the people we meet at Starbucks and individuals at the mall. He challenged us to get a burden for the lost, and to pray that God would brake our heart every time we encounter someone that does not know Christ. Pastor Cory made such an "impact" on our group that Pastor Robby has asked him to come back next Saturday to continue the revival he has started in us!
These two days have been a life changing experience for Impact Student Ministries and for me personally. My hope that when I blog this month it will reflect that change which has been made.
I have so much more to say about this weekend, as well as pictures to post, but it is about 1:30am and I have to get up early for church tomorrow, so I will continue this another day...

New Blogger of The Month
Hello everyone!!! I will be your new blogger for the month of May. This is the first time I have ever done something like this so I am not exactly sure how it will turn out. I have however, been a faithful reader of nightyandnine.com for several years and have really enjoyed the other bloggers.
I guess I should just start by telling you all a little about myself…
My name is Allison Dumas I am single 24 year old. I live in the small town of Oxford, Michigan and attend The Apostolic Church in Auburn Hills. I am extremely involved in my church and my youth group Impact Student Ministries and I am sure you will hear more of that later on.
I’m a school teacher at Auburn Hills Christian School (GO COUGARS!) and absolutely love my job. I teach 7th-9th grade Bible and I hope to next year pick up an Intro to Psychology class.
Speaking of psychology, I attend Madonna University where I am working on a Master’s of Clinical Psychology. I just recently (yesterday) switched from full-time to part-time which means I will graduate May of 2010. I am stoked about my decision to lessen my load and am ready to have a life again!
Other than God my family is most important to me. My parents both work at our church and they are amazing! I have one older brother Danny, he is married to Andrea, and they are expecting my nephew (possibly named Elie) in August. I have an older sister Ashley and she is married to Jimmy. I also have an identical twin Emily who is married to Brent and they are expecting my niece Ella also in August. Emily and Andrea’s due dates are only one day apart, you can only imagine how excited my family is. I also have a dog (King Charles Cavalier) named Sookie who is basically a stuffed animal who eats and sleeps. She is the laziest dog ever!
Well, I guess that’s the basics…
My hope for this month is to let you in on a little bit of my everyday thoughts as well the randomness of my life. This is a busy month for me, so hopefully it will produce some good posts. I should warn you however, that I may get into both Bible teacher and therapist mode on occasion, but overall I hope this can be enjoyable for all parties involved.

Food crisis?
Food prices rising, but no shortage in U.S.
News that some wholesale clubs appear to be seeing a run on food staples such as rice is raising the question of whether Americans could ever face a food shortage.
