A Month in the Life

Well, tonight I close out my blog... there are a lot of topics I wish I could have gotten to and some that I'm sure I'm glad that I avoided, but over all I hope that this was an enjoyable experience for all parties involved. I know for me it was cool to be able to have an opportunity to let some of my randomness out. I would like to meet the guy who invented summer school and punch him in the face. OK I probably wouldn't do that I am not that violent, but seriously, if you have the opportunity to take off school in the summer, do so. My summer semester is not a traditional 8 week crash course, no, it goes from the beginning of May to the end of July. I already feel the burn out, this is probably because I have an exam on Monday that I am trying to get ready for, but it is amazing the pressure I feel within myself to finish school as soon as possible. I really am trying to fight this off, because I think it became an obsession for me. I said in my first post that I just made the decision to become a part-time student. Something I haven't done for the past six years. I realized however, that I had become so consumed with school that I would not allow myself to enjoy other aspects of my life. Don't get me wrong, I am a complete advocate for higher education, but I think a lot "professional students" have difficulty allowing themselves to just sit back and enjoy the everyday aspects of life. I know for me sometimes those things feel like wasted time. But I came across this quote the other day and loved it... "Time enjoyed wasted, is not wasted time." I know that this can be taken to the extreme, but I think a little bit of down time does a body good... and this is what I plan on doing today!
