Shalom!

Oh how I enjoy summer. The best part is when the fruit stands of local farmers open up all over the state . Yum! That's all I have today. Buenos Noches!

Aloha!

Today in my medium-sized Michigan town we were having major storms. I was fascinated by the 50mph winds, the torrential rain, and the fast moving clouds. The sky was a dark gray. You could see about a car-lengths distance because of the sheets of rain. The alarms were sounding on the radio and outside. I stood there at through the bank's drive through window watching as the largest tornado I've ever seen form and dissipate. It was just before closing time and I was debating if I should risk going out in the storm. (I ended up risking it.)

Once I got safely home. I got to thinking how preachers often talk about storms in relation to our spiritual lives. Storms like the one I prayed my way through today can be a source of so many kinds of lessons. We can learn it can be interesting to watch others in how handle life's storms. It is so chaotic when that storm is your own. It's a risk to step out into any situation you don't understand. Sometimes you can't see above your clouds and rain to see the perfect blue skies. That doesn't mean they aren't there.. When it rainy and chaotic in your storm, its teaching us all to appreciate the Sunny days. It makes me search for the smallest patch of blue sky.

Howdy!

Sorry Guys out there who are reading this. I must talk to the ladies out there today. What is everyone obsession with nylons? At work, I am required to wear business dress. I thought the point was to look nice but apparently I was mistaken. I've worn my nice clothes and shoes since I started. The manager still asked me to wear "stockings". Today was 80 degrees with 80% humidity. What in the FREE WORLD!?! Why would anyone in their right mind wear nylons in summer time? Call me crazy I just don't understand it! There is something to be said for modesty and appropriateness. I don't mind wearing them in the winter when it is cold. Many people outside Pentecost would just wear pants, so they don't have to deal with them. I have chosen to wear skirts. In response, I find myself totally annoyed I can't go to work with bare legs and nice clothes.

Hola a el people. hehehe!

Today is Wednesday, June 4th, 2008 @ 11:20pm. It has been a tediously long day. I mentioned in my first blog I just started a new job at a bank. I am still in training. All last week I sat listening to some really nice people talk about company policies, governmental regulations concerning money, and the technology. This week I'm dealing with customers. Today was my first time being shadowed by someone while I run a window. I was scrambling in attempts to remember everything. There are different steps for different types of transactions . I have to band different denominations different ways. I need to have professional phone skills. I can't be as animated as I normally am, so I can't say things like Sweet! or Stupendous! I need to lock up everything behind me. Everything has an acronym (most of which I don't know yet). There is paperwork for so many different types of transactions. I have like 4 different passwords that I must remember. I'm finding it all a bit overwhelming! I am ready for the weekend to start or to be done with training. That is when I go to my own window without help as a part-time teller. The zzzzzs are starting to chase me. So good night to all and to all a good night!

P.S. YEAH! my picture loaded! I'll try to go do the others..... :D

How many ways do you know to say hello?

Today is June 3 @ 5:45pm. I just got home from work to blog for everyone out there. I've been debating with myself today on what to talk about. I've gotten some great ideas from our favorite editor, Kent and from my mom who is a faithful reader of 99&9. I must say it is pretty awesome to have such a large audience to share my thoughts with, even though it is only for a month.

So where has my mind been today? It has been in Colorado in my home church 2 years and 9 months ago today. I got married. We had a simple but elegant ceremony with big daisies and roses, tuxes and dresses, and God's presence most importantly. Our families were joined on this day a couple years ago too. It has been a time of tremendous growth, hard work and amazing times for me. I don't regret the choice I made, even though I sometimes get frustrated with my Andy. I still love that man for who he is and will continue to love him.Andy & Dana

Salutations to All!

I hope this blog finds you all in good health. My name is Dana and I'll be taking you through a month of my life. I live in Southern Michigan but was raised in Colorado. I was thinking the other day that I've been married, to Andy, for 2 years and 9 months (as of tomorrow). I am baffled by how quickly time goes by! I just got hired at a bank right before Memorial Day. I pretty excited about this new opportunity, due to the fact its my first "real" job. Some of my favorite things include sign language, food, music, and photography.

I have 2 sisters: Karly (older) and Destiny (younger). They are both married and have children. My niece and 3 nephews are pretty amazing, if I say so myself! Well its getting late. I have an early morning tomorrow. I look forward to sharing with you all.
