Ahem...uh, Testing, Testing, One-Two-Nine...

Well, dear ninetyandnine.com readers, you're stuck with me! Every Monday for the next month you will be privileged to peek in the psyche (psychosis?) of my brain. Expect a lot of these :"......." oh, and you've already seen one of these: (parenthesis...I love them...it's like I'm telling a SECRET!). But I promise you, there will be no smiley faces, pictures of glittery kittens with rainbows and butterflies wishing you a happy day. I don't do kittens. Rainbows. Glitter. I get a few of those on the 'ole myspace. Feel free to drop me a comment. Read my disclaimer though: the music on it is still in process. It needs mixing and mastering and basically came from the studio (we have a studio in our current church building) to my page. Who knows, I may just chuck it all and start over. I haven't gotten the sound just right.



My album has had about three starts and stops and since I contribute to much of the music my church produces their projects must come first. I'm committed to the work my church does. I believe that through time God in his infinite wisdom is crafting it beyond what I can do. Dr. Gerald Jeffers told me to wait on God and thank Him through the process. But more on that at a later post...





You may know me a little from the cover story I did with Kent Curry on the state of Apostolic music a little over a year ago. My producer called it "the firestorm." I prefer "open dialogue." It got a lot of response from readers far and wide. As I read it, before starting this post, I was really excited to see a change in the past year in regards to the things we wrangled with. It wasn't in response to my semi-rants I'm sure. But maybe something was bubbling. Just under the surface.





Cha-Cha-Changes





In the past year I've seen more independent AP labels come to surface. I even had a conversation Wednesday night with a Youth Congress insider who said that there is at work, right now, a kind of Itunes for Aps that will be launched at the conference. They're hoping to give stage time to up and comers in hopes of signing them. I'm waiting on details. Yes, I will share.





I'm also stoked (I was told I was not allowed to say "stoked"...whatever...I'm not that old) about the quality of music being put out today by some new artists. Nathanial Binion mentioned James Simms and Royal Tailor Band. LOVE!!!





But...





Got me thinkin'....





Where's the girls? Guys have the wider mass appeal, I know.





But..where-oh-where are the Girls?!
