Anybody read a good book lately?
Lee Ann's article, "Between the Lines: Does Anyone Read Anymore?", in this week's edition of NinetyAndNine made me think about my reading habits. I used to take in a novel every couple of months, at least, but like Lee Ann, now I spend more time reading articles, blogs, etc. on the internet.

I have always loved to read. But as I get older I am pleasantly surprised how reading can fit into the workplace. I am required to continually improve and learn. There is not going to be a standing still career. What my company says is 'Continuous Improvement.' I chose "Pushing the Envelope All the Way to the Top" by Harvey McKay.

Our upper management has been studying and passing around a book called "Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap... and Others Don't." It's amazing to see how much influence one book can have on a company.
