Oh When the Saints . . .

Posted by: Denelle

. . . come marching in . . .

What could be more appropriate or more inspiring to the city of New Oreleans than the reopening of the Superdome and a win by the undefeated home team??

With a pre-game concert by U2 and Greenday and a stadium filled nearly to capacity with cheering fans the Saints were welcomed home in style.

Put it this way: Acclaimed director Spike Lee watched the game from the Saints' sideline. Not even he could write a better script than this: New Orleans coming home and delivering, in resounding fashion no less, what many would consider, all things considered, the most significant victory in the team's 39-year history.

Welcome home guys!

Call me a bit insincere, but is anyone else bothered by the fact that many people still don't have a home in New Orleans, but we could find the time to fix up the Ole Super Dome for some football action??

I know that what happened in New Orleans is bad, but it was bad all over the MS Coast too and you hear NOTHING about them in the news. What about the 1 year anniversary of Hurrican Rita? No big deal about that either, and those people suffered loss too.

Personally, I think the falcons threw the game. I mean, beating the Saints in their first homegame after the tragic hurricane wouldn't be the best press coverage...
