They made the couple out as Not Apostolic..but Medonite are something else..If you looked closely..while they were reading the maual rules..you could see the words Pentecostal..so I knew then they were covering something up

I once was a part in the "UPC"I embraced every part of it.I can testify God is real.I can testify God IS outside the circle.I can testify some "standards"have ruined lives.I can testify I have found out the freedom outside the circle.I still believe the message.I still believe in the One God..I still believe in being holy. But I believe it is God who tells you how to live and dress.

I attend church with the Hoovers I for one did not and do not agree with an Apostolic family participating in a show called Wife Swap! However I am very thankful that neither of them compromised their standards. I pray that seeds were planted and good will come from this somehow

That is interesting that they were raised Apostolic. I went to a UPC church in Stockton, California for two years. I, however, don't attend a UPC church anymore but go to an Assemblies of God church. We are definitely on fire for God, however, I do wear pants and love Christian rock music (and I'm a woman)! I guess I wouldn't have been the extreme opposite of the Meeks because I would match his rock knowledge but tell him/them that I've found MUCH better music that sounds like the music that they like, but has lyrics that glorify Jesus! It's interesting that a lot of Christians hate rock music because of the guitar/drums saying that it sounds like the "world." Well, have they considered that there's slow music that has profane/suggestive lyrics? So, is it the style of the music (guitar/drums vs. saxaphone/piano) or is it the lyrics of the music that is the issue? Rock music is not intrinsically evil, it's the application thereof. Remember that David not only danced before the Lord but he also played the harp and the lyre. This is our modern day version of the guitar! Hello! That is interesting that they covered up the fact that they were more apostolic/pentecostal rather than Mennonite. It's part of the propaganda that makes for good television, according to the executives, to highlight their extreme differences. I guess by portraying them as Mennonite, they seem more "extreme" right-wing, conservative Christian. I agree with Kristin's strong stance for Jesus and I'm so glad that she went to the bar to sing about God. Jesus did hang out, in a sense, in the biblical "bar" with what the Pharisees and the Sadduccess called low-lifes or "sinners": drunkards, tax-collectors and prostitutes. He did that to shine His light to those who are in darkness so I'm glad she changed her mind.
